Homemade chicken stock is necessary to make this simple gravy. I wouldn't recommend the canned broth. Serve this yummy gravy with biscuits, mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetable for a hearty, home cooked meal.

3 cups homemade chicken stock
2 chicken bouillon cubes
4 Tbsp corn starch with enough water to mix (about 1/4 cup or so water)
1 1/2 cups cubed, cooked chicken
1/2 tsp fresh cracked pepper
Warm stock in a sauce pan. Mix water and cornstarch, stir into chicken stock. Add bouillon cubes. Bring to a simmer and stir until thickened slightly. Add chicken pieces and pepper and cook over low heat until chicken breaks up a bit and gets nice and hot. Serve over mashed potatoes and biscuits.

ReplyDeleteThis looks so good I want to lick my computer screen! My mom used to make a version she called SOS. My kids love it, too. Especially on buttermilk biscuits. Ok, now I'm drooling...
