I don't claim this often, but these are the BEST brownies you will ever, ever make. You can burn all the other brownie recipes you have on file. These are super chocolaty, studded with chocolate chips and topped with chocolate butter cream frosting. They are dense and rich and will satisfy any chocolate craving with a big glass of milk. Just perfect.
Ultimate Brownies

In a bowl, combine and stir until thickened:
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup boiling water
Add in order listed:
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla
Then add:
1 1/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. (no more or brownies may fall apart when cut)
Pour into greased 9x11 inch cake pan. Bake 30-35 minutes in a 350 degree oven, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides or toothpick inserted comes out clean. Do not over bake. Cool in pan.
Once cooled, prepare and top with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
6 Tbsp butter, softened
1/2 cup cocoa
2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
Beat butter with cocoa. Alternate and add powdered sugar with mixture of milk and vanilla. Spread on brownies.

ReplyDeleteThe pictures have me absolutely convinced that these are the best brownies ever. I am absolutely going nuts not being able to eat chocolate any more because of my stupid allergy to it, so please forgive me if I use carob powder and chips in this recipe. But, I have GOT to make these!
